Too cold for most and reports that fish were scarce put off all but the most hardy anglers from taking part in the Open Boat competition on Sunday 31st.
Nevertheless 15 entrants put to sea and tried their luck.
Fish were indeed scarce and many reported not having even a single bite! The weigh in committee (pictured left) believed it would be ‘a rollover’ as they waited for the boats to return.
The Winner on numbers and weight with 9 fish weighing in at 4.190 lbs was Chris King (pictured bottom left). Second was Steve Whiting with 5 fish at a weight of 2.485 lbs. Third was Jim Pressley with 3 fish including heaviest fish, a 0.820 Dab for a total weight of 1.830 lbs.
